Eye Stye Treatment - The 5 Golden Rules
So you've an stye and therefore are looking for the very best type of eye stye treatment. First of all, do not worry. Eye styes can seem scary in the beginning however i assure you that they are not only common, but are often pretty easy to deal with knowing what to do. Well, i make the five golden rules for eye stye treatment. With this particular advice you can not only treat your eye styes, but dramatically shorten their healing some time and even prevent them from occurring later on.

RULE 1: START In your own home TREATMENT EARLY

Eye styes often start with similar characteristics and clinical signs. If you've had them enough guess what happens i'm referring to. Often they start having a pinpoint sensation in the stye site also it can even being explained some as a tingling sensation. Sometimes people get headaches as well, while others suffer from eye strain. When you initially get the stye, immediately start using warm compresses multiple times each day. This technique works extremely well and can make the difference in just how long the stye lasts and how severe it's.

RULE 2: DO NOT TRY TO POP THE STYE

This may appear to be common sense for most, however, you will be surprised by the number of people actually attempt to pop the stye like a pimple. It is not a pimple people! A stye is an infection of the glands in the lower eyelid by popping it, you can actually do more harm then good. The stye can become even more infected and you can even spread the problem to other parts of your body. While using warm compress will accomplish exactly the same goal of opening the stye up to drain with no trauma induced by popping it.

    RULE 3: PRACTICE GOOD HYGIENE

Remember your mother always telling you to clean both hands? She wasn't doing this for her own good. Her advice is really one of the best methods to prevent styes as well as other diseases in general. Styes are usually the result of a bacteria that's commonly located on the skin. It may often be spread to the eye to deal with so washing both hands is very important. Be sure to wash both hands pre and post touching your eye to minimize the transfer of bacteria. These general hygiene practices aren't just restricted to hand washing though. Make sure to wash your face with a non-irritating facial wash or scrub. Also, should you wear eye shadows, be sure to thoroughly take it off, as makeup can easily cause styes to form.

RULE 4: USE OVER-THE-COUNTER PRODUCTS IF NEEDED

    eye stye

There are lots of eye stye treatment products available which are efficient at soothing the eye, cleansing the eyelids, and disinfecting the stye. A number of these products can be purchased over-the-counter and many are fairly inexpensive. Products for example stye ointments or drops are wonderful at providing pain alleviation due to the stye and also have an antibacterial function. Eyelid scrubs and cleansers are ideal for cleaning around the eye. As always, look into the product label for instructions on how to begin using these products most effectively.

RULE 5: IF THE STYE DOESN'T Disappear OR GETS WORSE THEN Reach A physician

Sometimes regardless of what you do in your own home, the stye just won't go away or actually begins to get worse. This could be an indication of a worse infection that requires the interest of a doctor. The doctor will most likely prescribe an antibiotic drop or ointment to combat the problem. In serious cases the stye might need to be lanced by an ophthalmologist or even surgically removed. When determining how long to hang about until visiting a doctor, there is no strict time table. Instead, allow you to common sense show you and try to seek professional treatment sooner instead of later. However, you should observe that these styes can occasionally take too much time (up to a couple weeks) to go away completely.
